Get to Know the Texas Artist:
A native Texan, Danny Stephens grew up in the community of Hope,TX, near Yoakum, where he began training horses for the public at the age of 13.  It was his vocation that carried him through the earning of a degree in agriculture education from Sam Houston State University in 1971.  Choosing to train horses as a career rather than teach children has helped Danny glean a wealth of information and knowledge about equine anatomy and habits.  The individual who finds pure enjoyment in horses and horse related activities finds equal enjoyment in Danny's bronzes which depict scenes from the horse barn, action from the rodeo arena or simply happenings in the life of an everyday cowboy or the average horse enthusiast.  Danny cast his first bronze in 1978 and from that point he has studied under various artists expanding his knowledge and skills.  He has been commissioned by numerous horse enthusiasts for bronze portraits of loved ones, favorite horses, trophies, and several different rodeo personalities. Danny currently resides in western Matagorda county and at the age of 76 is still horseback riding every day when he is not in the studio working.
