Breakthroughs, not Breakdowns depicts a time in my life where there was so much change, it felt like I was looking at a mountain of uncertainty. It was through meditation, I realized this stress and pain were preparing me for something big. It was time to check the stability of my artist foundation because something big is about to grow from it. The overwhelming feeling of the unknown paired with the pressure to move forward caused me to break down. However, I now see that it was not a breakdown, but a breakthrough. It was during the creation of this painting that I came up with the idea to curate my own solo exhibition and so I did. The show sold out in ticket sales, I explored my dream to paint a dancer for a live art performance, the lighting was perfect, the drinks were flowing, and everyone got to explore the exhibition with black lights. It so far was the biggest moment in my career.
