Ocean View is an abstract collage depicting a surreal cityscape against a vibrant, quilt-like sky. The buildings, reminiscent of M.C. Escher’s optical illusions, blend contradictory perspectives to suggest both interior and exterior spaces. Created with hand-painted patterned paper, the artwork invites viewers to explore its layered depths and contemplate the interplay between structure and space.

Get to Know the Austin Artist:
I’m a designer and illustrator living in Austin, Texas. I studied Studio Art and English at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. I feel my happiest and most satisfied working on creative projects I’m passionate about, whether it’s cutting out tiny collage details with my x-acto knife, or working in Figma to make intuitive designs.

I love experimenting with color and texture through paste paper collage, and I’m constantly inspired by my favorite children’s book illustrators, Eric Carle, Christian Robinson, and so many more.
