"Down in the garden where moonflowers gleam,
Lived Mama Raccoon and her three-part team.
Rye liked mischief, and Fig liked to snack,
And Thistle? Well, Thistle had no sense of track.

“Stick to the shadows,” their mother would warn,
“Keep out of the bins and the garden of corn.
Take only what’s fallen, and never what’s bright
And don’t start a chase with the cat late at night.”

But Rye found mud, and he made it a slide,
While Fig tipped a bucket with berries inside.
Thistle got tangled in somebody’s hose,
Then proudly marched home with a daisy on her nose.

They caused a commotion, they rattled a can,
They outran a sprinkler and tripped a tin pan.
They knocked over boots and a watering pail
Then vanished like ghosts on a moon-silver trail.

Mama just sighed as they tumbled back in,
Sticky with jam and all sporting a grin.
She licked every ear and she murmured, “You three
May break every rule, but you're safe here with me.”

Get to Know The Austin Artist:
Phill’s enthusiasm as an artist is fueled by his love for the complex aspects of urban environments.
Placing the importance of expression at the forefront of each piece, he is guided by the desire to create authentic experiences of place. He challenges the connotations of place and argues that is more than a synonym for location, offering instead that it is a unique ensemble of nature and culture.
