Get to Know the Austin Artist:
Who is Jane Schaller?
She's spent most of her life steps from the Atlantic coast in Massachusetts and Maine collecting rocks and driftwood, and trash, from the islands and beaches . She loves travelling to the Pacific Northwest where all the magic qualities of the East Coast are magnified!
All pieces get categorized in bins and "find " each other as heads, wings and bodies and come together with some playful creative time.
She also loves working with clay , and the tactile feeling of working in this ancient art form with all the elements of earth, water ,air and fire.
When she can combine driftwood and clay into one creation, it's the holy grail !
The raw beauty of nature is a constant daily inspiration .
