Maria
Janis Fowler
18"h x 12"w print - unframed
Maria gazes out along with her other primate friends, reminding us of the interconnectedness of mankind and nature. She represents an ideal balance between natural habitats, mankind, and both close and distant relatives of mankind in a world we all can share. Maria has a tarsier friend (left shoulder), a little pygmy marmoset (on her hand), a capuchin monkey (right shoulder), a young spider monkey clutching her forearm, and a barbary macaque seated on the log in the central part! So many little monkey friends!
Get to Know the Austin Artist: Janis Fowler
I'm an artist living on the east side of Austin, and I fill my days with creating art celebrating living things. I've always been drawn to painting and drawing animals and people and I love to paint both real and fantastic interactions between them. I strive to show the personalities of the creatures in my art, and I hope the viewer loves viewing them as much as I love creating them!
