Get to Know the Austin Artist:
I'm Eva Glock, and I'm a visual artist from Texas. You can usually find me painting, but I also love spending time outdoors with my husband and young son. Our inspiring surroundings always encourage me to create. Recently, my painting, Spring Winds, was sent to Tanzania, Africa for an Embassy Exhibition with the U.S. Department of State's Art in Embassies Program. I was thrilled to have the Curators and Ambassador Wright select my work for this four year Exhibition.

Expressive use of color and form are hallmarks in my paintings. In college, I studied behavioral science and multi-disciplinary fine arts which suited my need for reflection, making, and context. As my work has developed, I’ve learned to embrace and trust applied observation. I draw inspiration from spending time outdoors and absorbing the rhythms of nature. Much of my work is landscape based. I use abstraction with color blocks to ground the landscapes. Representational and recurring themes in my paintings include horizon lines and the architecture of nature. I hope that my work evokes an emotion or memory in the viewer as I try to share a moment of peaceful reflection.
