Get to Know the Austin Artist:
Alla paints because art is an international language, a vehicle for intentionally communicating lasting positive energy and being understood. Alla was born in Moldova and grew up in Russia before settling in Austin, Texas. She has trained in oil painting for more than eight years, studying Impressionism under the renowned Eastern European painters Mikhail Kulumbegov and Naim Lamidov.
She doesn’t restrict herself to one genre, but does portraits, landscapes, florals, and more. She takes inspiration everywhere from city arboretums to the flower section of local supermarkets. Much of her work deals with the themes of change and beauty in the natural world. A distinguishing feature of her art is her preference to work with a pallet knife.
