John Donofrio is a self-taught Austin artist whose work blends personal storytelling with Americana. He paints over discarded canvases from Austin Creative Reuse, often placing them in vintage frames to give new life to forgotten materials. Music deeply influences his process - he paints with songs playing and hopes some of that rhythm infuses into the work. John’s portfolio feels like a cross-country road trip: traveling back roads with no plan, good songs on the radio, and landscapes - both on the tables of folks visited along the way and scenes observed out his car window.
