'Meadowlight' is a celebration of color and texture, inspired by the way sunlight dances through a field of wildflowers. I stitched each petal and detail with intention, bringing the purples, pinks, and whites to life against an intricate, hand-sewn batik background. This piece reflects my love for flowering fields and fiber art—where every stitch is a story and every thread holds a bit of magic.
About the Artist: Kathleen Baumbach
Kathleen Baumbach, a fiber artist with an exquisite eye for nature’s poetry, was raised amid the lush landscapes of upstate New York. A devoted gardener, Kathy’s green thumb breathes life into everything she touches—whether coaxing blooms from the earth or weaving intricate quilted masterpieces. Her textile creations radiate harmony, vibrancy, and the delicate balance of the natural world.
Now calling Asheville, North Carolina, home, Kathy draws endless inspiration from nature’s shifting rhythms. As spring’s warmth stirs the earth, renewal echoes through her artistry—each stitch capturing the luminous energy of sunlit blossoms and her deep love of nature. Her intricate handwork and layered color palettes transform fabric into living expressions of the world around her.
Art has been Kathy’s passion and solace. Through the quiet rhythm of needle and thread, she found healing in times of loss—pouring devotion into her craft during the challenges of Covid and the devastation of storm Helene. Her work speaks of resilience, beauty, and nature’s endless renewal.
