Acrylic on Canvas
12"h x 16"w x 1.5"d framed

2025

This painting was inspired by a video I captured in mid-July of 2022 on my drive home from work. The scene felt like a snapshot of Austin’s spirit—telling a story through silhouettes embedded in the glow of Sandy’s Burger Shack, a community staple since 1946.

Get to Know the Artist:

Holly Prinz has had an affinity for art since childhood. Growing up in Santa Barbara, California, she developed an early appreciation for architecture, old cars, and the quiet charm of the town around her. She also credits her grandmother’s scenic oil paintings for inspiring her creativity at a young age. As a young, self-taught artist, Holly became captivated by realism and honed her skills in charcoal drawing, developing a deep understanding of form, light, and texture.

After moving to Austin, where creative expression runs deep, Holly’s artistic path evolved into painting as she sought a greater sense of freedom and expression in her work. With an eye for photography and the world’s quiet details, she captures her own reference images and transforms them into paintings that blend realism with surreal color schemes. Her work reflects both observation and imagination - inviting viewers to see the ordinary in a new light.
