THE SHAPE OF AUSTIN SERIES

Growing up in a small town north of Houston as the youngest of three sparked my creativity and resourcefulness. I transformed cardboard boxes into vibrant worlds, fostering a passion for art and innovation. As a kid, Playskool color wood blocks became the foundation of my artistic development, inspiring my fascination with cities, architecture, and complex compositions. This early creativity, combined with my visual communications degree from The Art Institute of Houston, led me to craft art pieces celebrating my favorite city, Austin, Texas. Embracing growth while honoring the past, I believe, is key to a city's evolution. My latest series, "The Shape of Austin", revives my childhood joy of building and creating. Inspired by downtown Austin's dynamic growth, I capture intriguing compositions, reimagining them as flat color block images, and bring them to life on canvas with acrylic paint. These artworks showcase Austin's transformation, blending original elements with new, vibrant perspectives, reflecting the city's ever-changing beauty.
