The Little Corner Store
Holly Prinz
Acrylic on Canvas
16"h x 12"w x 1.5"d framed
2025
A small convenience store on the corner of Bath and Ortega Street in Santa Barbara, CA. Unassuming at first glance, yet it holds the kind of memories that linger. It was a familiar stop for my family when we lived in that old condo on Cota Street.
Get to Know the Artist:
Holly Prinz has had an affinity for art since childhood. Growing up in Santa Barbara, California, she developed an early appreciation for architecture, old cars, and the quiet charm of the town around her. She also credits her grandmother’s scenic oil paintings for inspiring her creativity at a young age. As a young, self-taught artist, Holly became captivated by realism and honed her skills in charcoal drawing, developing a deep understanding of form, light, and texture.
After moving to Austin, where creative expression runs deep, Holly’s artistic path evolved into painting as she sought a greater sense of freedom and expression in her work. With an eye for photography and the world’s quiet details, she captures her own reference images and transforms them into paintings that blend realism with surreal color schemes. Her work reflects both observation and imagination - inviting viewers to see the ordinary in a new light.
