Get to Know the Austin Artist:
Janice Willis is an intuitive, mixed media abstract artist living in the greater Austin area. She is inspired by beauty of the Texas Hill Country, the vibrancy and energy of traveling to various places around the world, a deep affection for the beach and aspects of her own faith journey.  Janice’s work incorporates the use of various textures, unique mark making and layering a wide range of colors to create a sense of depth and story in her work.  Her abstract work composes multi-layers, sometimes creating two to three paintings in one piece incorporating techniques of covering up and uncovering, peeling back the “layers” to reveal the finished piece.   

Janice’s work has been shown in various shows around the Austin and Houston, Tx areas and in homes throughout Texas, Colorado and California.  

Born and raised in Waco, Janice now lives in Austin with her husband and four kids.
