Quarantine Confessions: Random Acts of Kindness

Julie Pelaez

Alcohol Ink on Yupo and Wax Thread over Linen Canvas, Natural Wood Frame

25"w x 19"h

Part of a "Quarantine Confession" series, this piece highlights the countless kind gestures and heroic efforts to care for strangers, neighbors and family members in the face of the pandemic. Shards of paintings and tangled thread represent the upheaval and subsequent piecing together of a life in quarantine and a new normal.

Get to Know the Austin Artist:

Julie made the leap to fine art following a decade-long career as an Advertising Art Director. Her conceptual background guides her to incorporate hidden meaning into her colorful, abstract artworks. Julie's work spans from originals for gallery exhibitions and collectors, to corporate art collections, to print lines for select national retailers. Aside from art, she loves to play tennis, can be a tad bit competitive when it comes to board games, and can make a mean white sangria. Julie spills ink from her home studio in Austin, TX.
