Curiosity lies when there is a lack of knowing which direction you’re going in, or where a decision might take you. Unknowing and willingly pushing forward with next steps shows vulnerability. It could be seen as an independent journey, isolation, or new idea. The urge might beckon you to somewhere unexplored. We don’t know if the depth of that journey will be fulfilling or lonely. We don’t know if a decision will bring upon great grief, a surprise, or grand triumph that we hadn’t encountered before.

Get to Know the Austin Artist:
Karin Tuck Dynner Petersen is a fiber artist who lives in Austin, Texas. She is inspired by scenes of nature during outings and travel. Her subjects range from landscapes to detailed images of flowers. She sews layers of textiles to create a tranquil journey, evoking all senses. She has a strong interest in environmental issues. Petersen has a BFA from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, CA.
