I have always had an affinity for wildlife and wild places. The ocean and its creatures are definitely no exception. This piece depicts a Humpback whale in all its wondrous glory. As far as the process goes. I hand cut the wood to be a small slice of the ocean and then carved the whale from a piece of linoleum. I then carefully hand stamped the whale onto the wood.

Ray Allen is a Texas native who has called Dallas-Ft Worth, Austin, and San Antonio home. You can often find him in his woodshop covered in sawdust doing what he loves. He draws inspiration from his love of the outdoors, wildlife, travels, and his family. He likes to call his work art therapy.
